Innovation Movement Training – Special Edition Newsletter

Dear Members,

On March 3rd we will kick off a new Innovation Movement Training, already the 5th Cohort since its inception in Spring 2020.

It is not too late yet to join the upcoming Training! We still have a few places available. It is a great opportunity to amplify your work and share knowledge across organizations and across functions. If you know someone who would like to join, please contact us!!

But what is so special about the Innovation Movement Training? This Special Edition Newsletter will give you some background.

Innovation Movement Training: a learning experience

The Innovation Movement Training was first developed as a collaboration with the Chiefs of Learning and HR from UNOG, ILO, ITU, ITC and UNHCR.
Piloted in 2020, the Training targets senior managers (team leaders) who are interested in developing an innovation mindset and joining a growing, world-wide network of innovation champions.

The Training consists of 8 sessions during a 4-week period and is fully virtual to enable participants from all over the world to join. Every session focuses in on a specific aspect of innovation methodologies and the requirements to enable them. Examples include a workshop on Human Centered Design, Social Change: Wellbeing for Innovators, and Leading for Innovation. The concept note, including the agenda for this Cohort,  is already available on theMember Content page of our website.

Each topic is taught by one or several experts (academics or practitioners) in the field. After studying the academic theory of innovation and change in bureaucratic organizations, participants tackle practical exercises in cross-functional and cross-organizational groups, making it a true hands-on experience, which can be directly implemented in daily operations.

As a past participant put it: “[the Training] guided us through practicing processes that can easily be adopted by the stakeholders, are user-friendly, and could be a game changer in the delivery of better services”

The next Innovation Movement Training starts on March 3rd. There are still a few spaces available! Please contact Iris or Katherine for more information!
